“Ezekiel’s Wheel” (Fire Sermon Series): This image very much reminded me of the Biblical description of Ezekiel’s Wheel, which is still remarkably vivid after more than two and a half thousand years. The image is unabashedly symmetric. It rises from the unconscious and touches on both the darkly esoteric and the burning numinous.
Another variation on "Mysterious Voyage"
“Sow the Wind – III”: This piece works on several levels. On the positive side, there is sort of a giddy kinetic pleasure, on the negative, it pertains to the unintended consequences of our actions in both the geopolitical and personal realms.
“Mysterious Voyage”: This is another work in the Pacific Series. Sometimes, it seemed to me that from the high bluffs overlooking the Santa Barbara Chanel, one could see beyond the edge of the earth to uncharted waters.
“Breakfast with Pele” (Pele Series); Once, while visiting Kīlauea volcano in Hawaii, I saw a group of Islanders present to the open crater (and presumably to Tūtū Pele, the volcano Goddess herself) gifts of flowers, fruits and other foods. While respectful, the ceremony was casual, friendly and without excess solemnity or sentimentality. It impressed me deeply.
